Thanksgiving in October .....

Yes,today we had Thanksgiving dinner and you know, this was a serious labor of love. As I must tell you, Thanksgiving dinner is my LEAST favorite meal ... EVER.In fact, tonight, not one bite.Nothing.Nada.But this labor of love was born from a different type of labor. The birth,18 years ago,of my darling Taylor Morgan.Okay, not real labor,in the childbirthing sense of the word because as my older girls like to point out,I didn't actually give BIRTH to them,I had c-sections.Whatever girls.I personally still call it giving birth. Now,back to Taylor, the birthday girl and what the heck Thanksgiving has to do with her special day.Well you see, holding fast to the long standing tradition of having the kids pick their birthday dinner,Taylor has consistently requested turkey dinner for about the last 7 years running.Got to love that girl and obviously I do because I make it and serve and usually one month later do a repeat performance.Today my girl is 18.Holycow,where did that time go.My baby of the first set.Now look at you.College girl.Teaching with Jumpstart.Finding your way beautifully after a year when more was asked and required of you then should be asked and required of anyone. But you,my cute little thing, you have indeed blossomed and you have the world at your fingertips for the taking. That is,if,while your busy taking that you are busy giving back as well.Which I know you are and I know you will.I love you Taylor and miss you face around here on a daily basis but more then anything,I am proud beyond words of you and all you are becoming.

Happy Birthday Taylor - hope you have a great day! Heather, I'm sure your "Thanksgiving Dinner" was spectacular. (Have you tried deep frying turkeys? They take 3 minutes per pound, 45 min for a 15 #er & are so moist and juicy - and Mark gets to cook it outside!) Only way we do turkeys now, even out in the dead of winter, cold & snow, Bo's out there cooking. So glad that you are ALL doing so well, especially Zoey. I can't get over how big she gets with every picture you post. Good luck to both you and Jess in the upcoming marathon (don't over do) - love the blankets (actually got one from Lisa's family as a gift for organizing "pig roast" and it is so warm and comforting - just love it. We continue to keep you guys in our thoughts and prayers -

I like everything about Thanksgiving dinner except turkey!
I'm trying to convince my family that a change to Cornish hens would be a good thing. Everything else is cook will be traditional family recipies....homemade stuffing, butternut squash soup,
Homemade rolls, my special cranberry sauce with grand marnier.
So far, they're still stuck on turkey. :)

Stay well, Jenefer

Happy Birthday, Taylor.
Now about the birthing question...having had 2 c-sections, I will say, "Honey, you gave birth!" Having your torso sliced, clamped back & a 8+ lb baby pulled out of you is no easy deal. Yes, you may not be as sore to sit down, but you are suppose to nurse or feed this baby on your stomach that has just been stapled back together with things that look like they came from a construction site. Once you get home from the hospital, you can't bend over because you feel like your insides might just pop open! As long as those sweet little babies came out of your body...you gave birth. My first birthday after I became a mom, I sent flowers to my mother. My sister thought that I had lost my mind, until she became a mom (by C-section, too). My babies are turning 30 & 34 for this month.

Happy Birthday Taylor. I remember this from last year, I remember reading about the turkey for Taylor, too funny. A girl can't help what she loves. And if Mom is willing to make it...

I have a niece named Taylor who was born on Thanksgiving Day. Her mom dropped off the green bean casserole she made for our family dinner and then went and gave birth to her. We all later brought turkey, stuffing, etc. to her in the hospital.
That was quite a Thanksgiving to remember. We were blessed with our little "Tater-tot" on that day. :-)
I pray that you are blessed during this time too!
