My boy Joe ... and a little snippet of the princess

Yes folks,I do have other children besides Zoey.5 others in fact. All just as magical as Zoey but that girl, she is in a category all by herself, don't you agree? No offense my other loves reading this.I love you all the same.No different but come on we are talking Zoey!I would venture to guess none of you mind her stealing the spotlight.

But today I wanted to share a few,as I like to call them,"Joe-isms".And no worries. For those of you who come here to get a daily Zoey fix... I won't be leaving you hanging.I got a little of that too.

Oh Mr.Joe.My complicated, sweet boy.He is also one seriously funny little guy.We can always count on him to make us laugh.Like when he was watching the fireworks this past 4th of July, and was asked by our friend Amanda what kind of fireworks he would like to see and his response:"President Buchanan... because it would be all wrinkly."What six year old says that?I suppose one who made it his life's mission to memorize all the presidents in order from Washington to Obama in less the 2 weeks.I have heard the boys rattle them off a hundred times and I STILL can't get past Monroe!

This week he has had some classic lines that I have got to share.First, I have to say, that Joe is so absolutely in love with Zoey.He loves on her 24/7.To a point where we sometimes have to tell him to give her some breathing space. He smothers her and she does so love it.Joe plays simply beautifully with her.Signs all the time with her.Just adores her.Well, the other day he was singing "Old MacDonald" and he ran through the usual animals and moved on to people. He got to wife and I asked,"What does his wife do?"To which he responds,"Goes on the computer all the time."Note to self:A little less computer time might be in order.I suppose,he could have said way worse.Joe-ism number 2:The other day,the boys came in from school, wild and crazy and I forewarned them that I was a little short on patience this afternoon,to which Joe immediately replies."Then why don't you go get some. Not my problem."Nice,uh?Where does this kid get these things?Last one:Joe was asking me to come help him after his shower. And although I love taking care of my children, doing for them,I also have the fault of doing too much.So in quest to foster a little more independence,I told Joe he could do it all by himself. To which he begged for me to come up when he called. To which I said ,"Maybe"To which he said "I don't trust your maybe's."I asked why and he said "because that usually means no."Second note to self:Come up with another stalling tactic as the boy is on to me.But for the record,I did go up and help him.Love this boy.He keeps us laughing.Laughing and also on our toes.Never a dull moment with Mr.Joe,or now that he is an uncle,Uncle Joe ... we think that sounds so funny1

As for the littlest love.Doing her thing. We went to visit the school she will be attending,or rather the classroom she will be in,come March. She loved it.Arched her back and screamed out when I picked her up to leave.I'll share more about it after our IEP on Friday.A couple short video's for you.One in her walker after her shower, thus the wet hair and one signing two signs we had absolutely NO idea she knew.We use these particular signs with her but have never formally taught them to her and when she used them purposefully we were shocked. And so excited ... that little brain of her is working overtime these days.It is such a joy to be watching. And a gift ... always, always a gift.

Pause the music at the bottom if you are taking a listen.

Love the Joe-isms! Kids are so funny!

Zoey is such a doll! It sounds like she's going to love school. Leah definitely does as she throws the same fits when it's time to leave!

These are really some of the moments that take ones breath away, it's so heart warming to watch how beautifully Zoey understands what you are saying as well as to see her responses, that little girl of yours is a charmer and has us all around her little finger, a precious gift.
Joe reminds me so much of my little boy...gosh do they come up with some classic lines, leave us a bit speechless don't they?

Yay Zoey...Look at you standing up!

I can't get over how well her receptive skills are. She is amazing. Can't wait to see her excel at school.

As for Joe. He sounds like a riot. No wonder Zoey adores him. I imagine he is quite animated too.

Videos are awesome - I agree with others - we are looking for them all the time...

And "Uncle" Joe - Laughed out loud with his words..."Out of the mouth of babes" - so true.... listing all the presidents - wow Joe... This ole Great Auntie is really impressed!!

Hope to venture out there this spring. Cannot wait to see everyone (if it works out okay)

Joe, like my Nathen, has a great ability to help people laugh and lighten up. God says its good medicine too! Nathen one time brought out his piggy bank and dumped the contents on the table in front of Gramps. "here, now can you pay attention?" Buchanon.... I didnt even know he was a president?! ha ha!

Great work! Have all your house child proof? My guess is that Zoey will be going places. Girl on the Go, out-a-her-way! ;-)
