When I was a teenager, my mom would sometimes let me play hooky from school so I could help her clean the house. Yep, proof positive that my fanatical cleaning habits, go way, way back. Anyway, the other day, this song popped into my head and I couldn't help but smile. Remembering vividly my mom placing her beloved Gladys Knight and The Pips record on and music blasting, we would make our way through the house. This song was her favorite. And mine too. I can't carry a tune, and the truth be told, neither could she. But I don't think she would mind me telling you so. Tonight, when I found this, I sang and I smiled and I cried. Knowing that I will, for the rest of my days, miss her desperately.
