“If there is one thing in life that I have learned about life it is.. it goes on.”~Robert Frost

A weekend filled with beauty.  The wedding of my handsome nephew and his darling new bride. A weekend filled with moments of missing my mom desperately but of course knowing she was infact actually there, amongst us all. Her ever gentle hand guiding her husband, her children, her grandchildren and her precious 2 great-grandchildren through the days. She was present in the laughter overflowing. She was present in the radiant smiles that could be glimpsed and soaked in and cherished as fuel for the journey. And she was of course present in the tears that often caught us off guard in the most unexpected moments. But mostly she was present in the love. We all embraced living this past weekend. Just as she would have wanted us to.

Cousins reconnecting against the backdrop of the McKenzie River in Oregon. This picture was taken in my brothers backyard and was the site of Jacob and Lanie's wedding. Absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. I didn't want to leave.

My dad and his new great-grandson Kellen. My mom was so looking forward to meeting this sweet baby, so my dad loved on him for both of them.

My dad with the two littlest of the crew.

My mom loved to dance. My dad, not so much. But this weekend, he danced. Till midnight. And I know he did it for her. Much like he is doing many things these days. All for her. Keeping her alive in all things.

And the rest of us, we will be living as she did, spreading her love and honoring her life the best we are able. Missing you mom. For always.

Lovely lovely site for a wedding. The family photo is indeed outstanding. So glad you all were able to attend. (oops, except Matt I guess)

It does look so peaceful.

This is so beautifully written -- a perfect expression of your lovely soul and your ability to express what is good and positive in your life. I am so sorry that your mother missed this and will miss everything that comes -- however, I can't imagine she is anything but profoundly proud to see what comes from her and through you.

So beautiful Heather... looks like your dad is doing exactly what he needs to. Tears in my eyes as I read the post. May you keep the memory of that magical day and the definite presence of your mom as you work thru the days of this year. Your dad is amazing, BTW!

Looks like it was a wonderful family time together and yet so bittersweet. A celebration, yet missing someone immensely. I'm sure her spirit was there. Sending you some virtual hugs.
