Many of you may or may not have seen, that a few months ago, I added a link to my side bar for Reece's Rainbow.Reece's Rainbow is an incredible international adoption ministry striving to make a difference and save the lives of beautiful children living in orphanages over seas.Children in other countries, who just happen to have Down syndrome, who are treated as outcasts and viewed as having no value to the society to which they have been born into. These children remain in orphanages until they reach the age of 4 or 5. At which time they are permanently transferred to mental institutions. There, they are no longer available for adoption and live out the remainder of their lives unloved and forgotten. The life expectancy of a child transferred to an institution is cut by more than half. Some data suggests that many do not live past the age of 10.Many of these children are in desperate need of medical care not available to them and without it they will most assuredly, die.I encourage you to at least click over and learn a bit more about this amazing organization.Meet children that have found their forever families and those desperately waiting.Reese's Rainbow has committed to blog "31 kids for T21" and will post about a different child ,available for adoption, each day of the month of October. How great is that?I often wonder about my draw to this ministry.I often wonder if it is something more that calls me to keep tabs on these little children and visit the other blogs of families adopting from Reece's Rainbow.I often wonder if Zoey were in a more stable place, medically speaking,we in a slightly better place, financially speaking,if God would not be nudging but thrusting us forward. For now, this is my part. With the hope that maybe one day,one person, one family may look into the eyes of one of these innocent children and be called to bring them home.

mom, remember i cant turn my tattoo into a 9. just something to think about...
just kidding :)
Heather, I feel the same way about these little ones. There was one little boy in particular I kept my eye on at Reece's Rainbow...he melted my heart and is actually on my button to get people over to the site...his name is Timur and I just found out this weekend that his "Forever Family" found him...it was such a great feeling to know this sweet little guy that I had become so attached to was going to be rescued. I will be posting about him this month as the family is trying to raise funds to bring him home...he looks like he could be Reid's brother.
This weekend I also came across another family with an incredible story...I ended up reading every post this woman posted in the last year, I felt like I had read a novel by the time I was done and at points was in convulsion type crying...very moving story...they just adopted 2 girls through Reece's Rainbow.

Thanks for sharing about RR, Heather, I still am holding out hope that my dear husband will open his heart someday to one of these kids from RR. ....the gorgeous little girl in the top corner of the RR button (blondie w/blue eyes) is the little girl we have been matched to to be her prayer warriors. We have been praying for her for a few months now. Praying she finds a forever family. I would adopt her in a heartbeat if my dear husband would let me....
