Have you heard of St.Baldrick's Foundation?

Well,I certainly hadn't until my friend called me last night after seeing a flier in a local shop.Another initiation into the world of pediatric cancer. Here is it's description in a nutshell:St. Baldrick’s began as a casual conversation between friends and has exploded into the world’s biggest volunteer-driven fundraising program for childhood cancer!St. Baldrick's is the world's largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. Thousands of volunteers shave their heads in solidarity of children with cancer, while requesting donations of support from friends and family. In nine years, events have taken place in 18 countries and 48 US states, raising over $50 million, and shaving more than 72,000 heads. Is that not the neatest thing? What an incredible opportunity to be part of an event to show our support for young cancer patients worldwide. Now,I am not going to actually shave my head but I am going to go to our local event and help, along with my friend and our families and lend a hand in whatever we can.Maybe I can convince some of my men friends and family members to actually shave their heads.I probably would have had better luck if our own resident cancer warrior had indeed lost her hair during her last five month battle.Oh,Miss Zoey .. always have to do it in your own unique way.Anyway, we may have one taker ..my girlfriends son is thinking about it.Thinking.So if anyone is interested,go to stbaldrick's.org and learn a bit more about this amazing organization and maybe see if there is an event in your area.If you want to watch the video don't forget to pause our music at the bottom.

It is so so cool to see all the different ways people are coming together to fight this disease! I actually found someone in the blogging world who is raising money to shave his head with St. Baldricks. I donated to him. He did a post on Gwendolyn the other day and sent a bunch of people to the petition!

Love your blog and the music. Zoey Grace - love that name, is an amazing little girl. My name is Rhea and I am also a blessed mom of six - Emily 11, Aaron 9, Eli 6, Owen and Olivia 3 and sweet Anna 18 months. My husband and I have been married 15 years, but the last three have been the most challenging. Owen and Olivia were born at 31 weeks and at nine days old Olivia was stricken with necrotizing entercolitis. She spent about 18 months straight in the hospital. The doctors did not even think that she would celebrate her first birthday, but God had bigger plans for her life. Olivia is doing so great and is our miracle baby. Sweet Anna got viral encephalitis last April and she definitely behind in her development. She also has a seizure disorder because of it. Life is busy, but you would know that!!! Thank you for sharing your life with others. Zoey is so wonderful and my twins watched the video of her and they both think that she is now their friend. So cute!!!

It is amazing what can be started by just the average motivated person. I don't think I would have the guts to shave my head but I have grown my hair out and donated to Locks of Love.

By the way...I LOVE the new look. The picture of Zoey is so precious. It so captures her spirit. It is new, right? I am not just tired and delirious? I rechecked to see if you wrote a post about it and I didn't see anything. Anyway, I am off to bed.
