Where did February go?

So, I was talking to Caitlin earlier today. We were bouncing ideas off each other for Zoey's birthday.I mentioned that it will all come together...not to worry, after all I still have 3 weeks left to plan it.To which Caitlin said."Um,mom... you have 2 weeks."After further review of my calender, which I was certain and confident was going to undoubtedly show I had THREE weeks,I went into semi panic mode.March is sneaky like that.Sneaky AND busy.Birthday kind of busy around here.We have 3 birthdays to celebrate in March. All before the 15th of the month.A little more then two week reprieve and then Jessica's birthday is on the 4th of April. And this year Easter falls on,you guessed it,the 4th of April.Crazy busy. But the fun kind of crazy busy.

So this weekend, you know what I will be doing... party planning for Miss Zoey.As well as for my second born,Caitlin. Her birthday is March the 7th,the day of Zoey's party. We will be having a dual celebration that day.Which I think is appropriate.Appropriate in my mind because Zoey was actually suppose to be a scheduled C-section on that day 3 years ago. When we were talking about dates for Zoey's delivery,Caitlin thought it would be special to share a birthday with her baby sister.Zoey had other ideas however and decided the 2nd was a better day.In hindsight I think it worked out for the best. That day was filled with such sadness and fear of the unknown I would have hated for that cloud to be hung forever over Caitlin's day.So instead we will celebrate them together,3 years later.Rejoicing in the tiny fighters determination to overcome and defy all the odds set before her, even pre-birth odds.As well as celebrating her beautiful big sister, who loves and adores her little "Zo-muffin".

I wanted to throw something out there as well.An open invitation of sorts.I really wanted to extend to anyone out there, who has followed Zoey's journey over the last few years, that I may miss with a written invitation, our sincere desire and wish to have you at the party if you can and want to be there.Drop by.Have some food.Enjoy some cake and visit with the littlest birthday girl.Drop me an email or leave a comment if you want details.

Picture explanation:Joe is officially a reader. You know the excited, new reader. The one that reads signs and boxes and anything that has words on it.The other night, as we lay in bed,Jake,he and I,with our stack of books beside us,Joe declares,"I'll read that one mom."... and he did... all of it... with little help from me.And especially fitting was the book,"The Runaway Bunny"...one of my very favorites and reminds me of my independent and very grown up Joe.So,last night, this was the scene I captured.Big brother Joe reading to his enamored little sister Zoey.So precious.

One of my oldest and dearest friends lives in Sacramento. Last week she and her siblings were here in Texas...sadly because they lost their mother to a massive stroke.
While she was here I promised that I would come fly out to California for a visit. I am not sure when I am coming...but when I do I would love to meet Little Miss Zoey and her lovely family.

The pictures are precious :)

Really precious times, when the big brother suddenly gets protective and well acts like the big brother, what better way to do it than read to his little sister.
I agree just don't know where February went, I have the feeling the whole year is going to go by this way. Wow you have alot of preparations coming up, so wish we could be there but...will be there in spirit

These last several blogs have been soooo uplifting to read - what fantastic news. Zoey's numbers and her progress is just, well amazing! She certainly looks like she is enjoying her big brother reading those books to her. (He can read, she can listen and you can RELAX and watch.) What a wonderful sight. We will definitely be at Zoey & Caitlin's party (in spirit & thought & prayer). I'm sure it will be great. Happy birthday to both of them and to Jess too.

Oh how I want to 'drop in' on Zoey's birthday so bad! I was hoping to be able to suprise you on her birthday if Kurt got that job! I will, however, suprise you one of these days soon so I can give one of my dearest friend the biggest hug and thank you for all she's done for me over these last few months! And give zoey lots of kisses and hugs! Love and miss you my friend...and thank you!

I am so bummed I can't come to the party! I have yet to meet Miss Zoey AND Caitlin's little one...that was supposed to happen back in November, but I'm sure Caitlin told you about how we still haven't outgrown our indecisiveness and therefore managed to make the whole planning part one big discombobulation. Oh well, I shall be sending my mother to the party so that she can tell me all about it and about everyone. It's been too long since our adventures on Via Calderon! It's very possible I might be in San Diego next year, so hopefully I'll get to see lots of Charlotte (and Caitlin of course :) ), and as for the rest of the fam, I will be making a trip home soon! Hopefully see you then!

Thanks for giving me this reminder of why I want to be a doctor :)
