Way better than eye surgery ...

(signing "water")

As disappointed that I was, to not get that pesky eye procedure out of the way for Miss Zoey, the beach proved to be a far better option.

Once again,a great time was had by all and this week,oh boy,Zoey found her new favorite place to hang out while at the beach:right up at the water!Usually Zoey and I hang back on the dry sand. She is content people watching and scooting around and snuggling under the umbrella but this past Friday, she kept signing"sit" and pointing to the water. So what the heck.I heading down, plopped her down just where the water creeps to shore and well, she was in heaven.See for yourself. So darling she was.A mess but still so,so darling.

Tomorrow we are off to UCLA to visit Dr.Shields,Zoey's neurologist. It's been 6 months already since her last visit.Hoping we will remain status quo on her medication dosage.I just hate messing with it when things seem to be going so well where they are at.Something tells me we won't be making any changes.Which suits me just fine. Our appointment is at 9 am and with lovely LA traffic that means a 6:30 am on the road call for the little love and I.She is such a trooper.I know she will wake with a smile on her face and me,not so much. But what can we do?Another Monday and another "ologist" to check off the list.Won't it be nice to think that a day will come when we could permanently cross off all Zoey's "ologists" from her schedule?Wouldn't it be nice if someday, our lives were just overflowing with days spent frolicking in the sun and surf?Sounds wonderful to me.I'll keep praying for that.It could happen.Tell me it could, won't you?

Based on those pics and video, I would have to agree that the beach definitely was a MUCH better option! Oh Miss Zoey, you are such a beach babe!!! So glad you all had a fabulous day:)

Look how much fun she is having in the sand! :) What a great family day.

I hope her neuro goes well. I sure wish we could have gotten into Shields this month!

Oh yea, she is totally enjoying her seaside seats! Best seats in the house for Zoey!
That does look WAY better than eye surgery.
Good luck at the "ologist" tomorrow. Appt's stink but, I like the part that she is doing really well so there won't be any changes...that is awesome.

As Zoey gets older I notice more and more how much she resembles Caitlin. Such a pretty baby : ) I love those pictures of her in the surf!

You are very brave taking three kids to the beach, Heather. I can barely get my two to the park.

Nothing more beautiful than a filthy baby who's been playing so hard. At times, Laynee would spend a day with my friend Kathy. It never failed that she was filthy when I picked her up. Sometimes it was dirt or flour or chocolate. I loved it and I miss it.

That video is awesome! She is having so much fun. What a great day filled with new discoveries.

Have you finished with any ologists yet? So far cardiology has been kicked down to once a year but no one has been scratched off the list yet.
Praying for you, sweet friend, you've been at this longer.

Maybe after the eye procedures and folloe up that one can get scratched off?

Think this video was one of the best ever! EVER!!!! She was so HAPPY, playing in the sand & water and getting it all over her. No more sitting on that dull, dry stuff any more mommy! It's to the surf for Miss Z!! The sound of the waves is a wonderful background. Good luck today. Keep us posted. Praying for good results....

What a joyous site to see Miss Zoey enjoying the beach!! Beautiful girl1

There is a sweet 6yr old girl named Daisy Love who is battling a Wilms Tumor for the second time. She was transferred to CHLA a few days ago.
Perhaps if you have time, you could drop her off one of those lovely blankies you create for the hospital kids?

The pictures are just amazing! And I love the video. Makes me want to be right there sitting with her in that "puddle" kicking my legs too. Chloe would be doing the exact same thing.

I hear ya with all the "ologists"! Fortunately for us, we haven't "crossed them off the list", but we have cut down how often we see them. That counts for something, right?

Darling. Yes. Very.

Sure I can see the subtle differences, but her leg and arm movement is more symmetrical than not. That is a good thing, I think.

Hah-! ologistsssssssss!!! One day, one day -

A mess yes, but looks like she was having a fantastic time...even a little taste of the sand?

Seems we have similar drive times too... East coast..West coast..doesn't seem to matter..

Much love to you all-
from the duldroms of your hospitalized friends....sigh....another night here...no sleep.

This no sleep/stress thing is really aging me . and fast - I think I found a new wrinkle today. ugg.
