"Perfect love sometimes does not come until the first grandchild." ~Welsh Proverb
Charlotte Claire. What a sweet, sweet child. We loved having her here last weekend.Oh,and of course her mommy and daddy too.We loved watching her darling antics and her silly little faces. The Uncles loved watching her scamper about.I think they were in awe of all that Charlotte could do.Like standing up to the staircase and contemplating climbing them.Uncle Jake found great joy in picking her up every chance he got, reading to her,as books are her most favorite and was very proud of the fact that HE was the motivating factor in Charlotte taking her most steps ever.(stand by for video at the end of the post.)And then there was Aunty Zoey. Aunty Zoey loved Charlotte on Aunty Zoey's terms.Zoey needed to approach her and if Charlotte came too close to Zoey's personal space, then Charlotte received the patent Zoey evil eye.Wish I had captured that on film.We have learned that Zoey loves big kids and toddlers but is not fond of babies.Really funny to watch her.She literally turns away from them, makes a face, gives a grunt and that is that. But she tolerated Charlotte for the most part and we were able to catch a few sweet moments between them.
We of course didn't take nearly enough pictures of our time together, but what we always manage to do is make the most of our precious time together. We end up staying in our jammies chatting in the morning, longer than we probably should. We certainly know that we stay up into the night, way later than we should, talking some more and then there is laughing, lots of laughing. We truly just do our best to soak in the beauty of each other, knowing that, before we know it, being together, all together, the 11 of us,under one roof, will be over before we know it.(People trying to make the count work: 8 of us plus Danny, plus Charlotte plus Matt!)
I'd say that is definitely perfect love in every way.
