"They say I must be one of the wonders of God's own creation, And as far as they can see they can offer No explanation ....

"O, I believe
Fate smiled and destiny
Laughed, as she came to my cradle
Know this child will be able
Laughed as my body she lifted
Know this child will be gifted
With love, with patience and with faith
She'll make her way."~From "Wonder" by Natalie Merchant

"...we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."~Romans 5:3-4

The words to this song and also this particular verse, which Caitlin and I had just talked about the other day, came to me as I was watching this little video of Miss Z.I think they each embody her indomitable spirit. And my wish, is that when people see Zoey and look at all she has been dealt and all that she has overcome, that they too will see all what we do.Nothing less. And ultimately,so much more.

Oh my gosh. Marcus and I were watching the video together and laughing so hard! What an independent little thing. I like how she changed her strategy going down hill and how quickly she turned around every time you got in front of her! And her communication skills are amazing! Great video :)

The will to keep going...maybe that is what defines humanity overall, summed up in a few sweet moments spent in the company of a charming little girl.

You know, I don't know why I had not made the mental connection between Topamax and Zoey yet. While I was watching the video, for some reason my eye wandered right to the word Topamax in your summary. It jumped out at me since it happens to be the drug that my head-shrinker has me on to try to 'stabilize me', as he puts it.

Saw that you posted on Richard's blog...I knew you'd like him. You'd love him in real life, the two of you have a lot in common spiritually speaking. I have GOT to sit down and write his story one day, you'd really dig it, I just need to carve out some time to do it justice. It has to be perfect.

I can't even begin to explain to you what I see in her. Words just won't do it. What a miracle!!

This was hilarious.I have two combat crawlers who ruined pants by the hundreds of pairs! The Baby has partial paralysis and combat crawls using one hand to propel which is hard on her shirts so I buy over-all's in the thrift stores for floor time. I have to say I'm not sure what I would do with a bottom scooter like Zoe! Leather pants??? What a precious child.

Zoey...equals the strong willed child! She is quite determined, which is why she has done so well. Hugs to you with all that you are handling.

That smile! That precious face! I love every second of the video --

And I'm burnt to toast as well -- and it actually does help knowing that others are as well but are keeping on...

Love and peace to you.
