And, because Miss Zoey likes to keep her
pretty little hands in everything, we follow September's Childhood
Cancer Awareness month with, October's Down syndrome Awareness month.
Many within the Down syndrome blogging community this month will be participating in something called "31 for 21". They will be posting daily, 31 days in October, with things related to that triplication of the 21st chromosome, or as most know, Trisomy 21. I have done it in the past but this year feel like it is a bit lofty of a goal for me. But feel free to peruse my sidebar for some fabulous blogs of our little buddies who I am certain will have lots to share about their darlings and their journeys that have brought them to this day.
For now, this is what I want you to know the most : There is absolute magic that comes with that extra chromosome, if only you are able to open your eyes and your heart, to see it and feel it. We, Zoey's family and friends, are blessed to have this child in our midst. Honored in fact. Zoey brings us an abundance of joy and infinite beauty to our daily lives. Enrichment that cannot be conveyed properly but rather has to be experienced fully. Something to be envious of. But never, not ever to be pitied. Come on. Look at that face. How lucky are we?

You are very very lucky my friend... and so is she. Thanks for all of the inspiration over the past couple months when it might be most appropriate for you to "take a rest from blogging" w/ all that you've gone thru. So glad you didn't, as each post has stayed w/ me long after I read it. I think this is some of your best writing.. and the letter to the MD on elizabeht's blog... perfection.
Dang. She's cute. I just don't think it's fair that you get her and five beautiful others.
Oh so lucky. Oh that I will ever be so lucky one day to have a child as beautiful as her. She is an absolute gem on this earth and I know that she has changed my life and so many others! Even those of us that have never met her! Love to y'all!

I want to borrow her for awhile, but I know mama would never go for it! What a joyful soul.
Adorable and inspirational!!!
I do believe in magic, I do! Haven't ever expressed it so beautifully though. Happy October!
She is absolutely beautiful.
